A dead body was found Monday on board the yacht of Boston Red Sox owner John Henry.
The Boston Globe is reporting that police believe the death to be a suicide and that the dead man, approximately 28-30 years old, might have been working on the yacht, which is named Iroquois.
Here's more from The Globe:
Boston police spokeswoman Cheryl Fiandaca said firefighters and police responded to the Iroquois for a medical emergency about noon.
Fiandaca said they found a 28-to-30-year-old male in cardiac arrest. Efforts were made to revive the man, but he was later pronounced dead.
Fiandaca said the man may have been working aboard the 164-foot-long vessel, which was docked at 30 Rowes Wharf, behind the Boston Harbor Hotel. In 2011, Henry sought to sell the yacht for $28 million, Forbes magazine reported.
We'll certainly be hearing more about this — like the identity of the man and his connection to Henry. The Red Sox haven't issued a statement, but are expected to, according to police.
Baseball is back. Don't miss anything.
