RHP Smith recalled by Padres; Layne sent to Tucson (Yahoo! Sports)

MIAMI (AP) -- Rookie right-hander Burch Smith has been recalled by the San Diego Padres from Triple-A Tucson, and left-hander Tommy Layne has been optioned to Tucson.
