Some people just like to ogle home runs. That's OK. They're one of the most exciting parts of baseball. Heck, I check every couple days to see which players have hit the most mammoth homers.
As we flip the calendar to May, I figure this is a good chance to replay the biggest blasts of the season thus far. With the help of ESPN's Home Run Tracker — which calculates how far homers actually travel — here are the top seven from April. Anthony Rizzo of the Chicago Cubs and Mark Trumbo of the Los Angeles Angels share the crown as mashers of the month.
475 feet — a tie between Anthony Rizzo (April 18) and Mark Trumbo (April 29).
468 feet — Colby Rasmus, April 6.
463 feet — Torii Hunter, April 13.
460 feet — three-way tie between Justin Upton (April 1), J.P. Arencibia (April 4) and Mike Napoli (April 7).
Baseball is back. Don't miss anything.
