The Juice is back for its fifth season of fun! Stop by each weekday for an ample serving of news from the action, plus great photos, stats and video highlights.
Major league play: Daniel Descalso hustled after an errant throw and, without panicking, made a controlled pop-up slide to retrieve the ball and fire it home in time to throw out a runner at the plate to preserve a one-run lead for the St. Louis Cardinals. It's one of the nicest plays you'll see all season. He also hit a home run in the first inning, leading St. Louis to a 4-3 victory at Houston on Wednesday.
Off the board: Bartolo Colon shut out the Rangers for eight innings and Brian Fuentes added a 1-2-3 ninth in a 2-0 victory for the Oakland Athletics. Yoenis Cespedes missed the cycle by a home run and made a terrific sliding catch in left field. The Rangers hadn't been shut out since late in the 2011 season, and they lost for the ninth time in the past 13 games against the AL West.
2Morrow is here: Brendan Morrow of the Toronto Blue Jays has become must-see TV when he pitches. He threw a two-hitter against the White Sox in a 2-0 victory, picking up his third shutout of the season. Both hits were singles by A.J. Pierzynski. The results were much preferable to the previous start, when a line drive off his leg forced him to leave the field with help. Jose Bautista hit his 15th home run
When did Cleveland buy Detroit?: The Indians improved to 5-0 this season against the Tigers after winning 9-6 at Detroit. Michael Brantley staked them to a 3-0 lead in the first with a home run against Max Scherzer. Cleveland finished 15 games behind the Tigers a season ago, which probably got Indians manager Manny Acta to say:
''The championship goes through Detroit. They beat us up pretty good last year, the whole division, and they're a very good ballclub. It's still very early.''
Check out the home-run saving play made by — yes — 38-year-old Johnny Damon against Prince Fielder. Damon was freshly back from paternity leave, where he saw the birth of twin daughters:
Leapfrog!: The New York Yankees passed the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East standings for the first time since April 23 with a 4-1 victory. Ivan Nova took a two-hitter into the ninth, and Mark Teixeira and Robinson Cano each added a home run. The Yankees have turned themselves around, winning 10 of their past 13. It's CC Sabathia against David Price in the series finale today.

Three Facts for the Water Cooler:
• The Seattle Mariners scored all of their runs with two outs in an 8-6 victory at the Angels. Kyle Seager drove in four runs for the M's, with right-hander Jerome Williams of Los Angeles giving up the brunt of Seattle's timely offense.
• 49-year-old Jamie Moyer isn't finished pitching yet. He has signed a minor-league deal with the Baltimore Orioles — for whom he also pitched 16 years ago — and is committed to making "two or three starts" at Class AAA Norfolk, Orioles manager Buck Showalter said in the Baltimore Sun. Moyer had a 5.75 ERA in 10 starts with Colorado before being released.
• Braves right-hander Randall Delgado batted eighth — it's the second straight game Atlanta manager Fredi Gonzalez batted his pitcher eighth — and he singled on a hit-and-run against Josh Johnson to drive in a run in a 2-1 victory at Miami. Delgado has five hits this season.
