The Internet has already established why you don't want to be on the receiving end of a Brandon Inge home run. But Sam Miller of Baseball Prospectus points out that having a Giancarlo Stanton shot heading straight toward you might actually be more terrifying.
Check out this clip of a home run that the Miami Marlins slugger hit this week at Minute Maid Park, paying special attention to the replay that was filmed from the Crawford Boxes in left field.
A few observations here:
1. That ball left his bat so quickly that it was hard to process what was going on with that replay until that ball landed violently in the stands. And I knew that it was coming. Can't imagine the misfortune that could befall somebody if they were three beers into the night and in the middle of a conversation when Stanton decides to go into his bad, bad man mode.
2. Maybe his bat broke a little, maybe he didn't, but no, he didn't get all of that one. A fact that's almost impossible to get your head around.
