Andrew McCutchen would cut his dreads to get the Pirates into the World Series

Pittsburgh Pirates star Andrew McCutchen loves his trademark dreadlocks. So much so that he recently sat for this video feature that not only explains how he maintains and cares for them but that he must wear a size 8 cap — Bruce Bochy territory! — to tuck them all away.

McCutchen's hair are so much a part of his image and identity that he says around the 3:00 mark that no amount of money could get him to cut them off, not even a million dollars.

But to get the Pirates back to the promised land? Well, that's an entirely different story.

"Bringing (the World Series) back to Pittsburgh? Yeah, definitely. Just give the razor, plug it in and just not even think about it."

If only it were that easy, of course.

McCutchen has had a great start to the year, hitting a team-high .339 from the No. 3 spot. His teammates haven't been as helpful, though, as it took Tuesday's three RBI performance in a 5-4 win over Colorado to push his RBI total all the way up to five.
