Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports, one of the finest reporters of Major League Baseball in the world, made a note of this on Twitter:
At the moment Pablo Sandoval comes off DL, Rusty the panda goes missing at National Zoo. OK then.

What's the connection? Would an active Pablo "Kung Fu Panda" Sandoval, slugging away for the San Francisco Giants, upset the natural panda balance? Is that why Rusty, the beloved rare red panda at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., suddenly cannot be found? What effect will this event have on All-Star voting? Via the Slideshow, a Y! News blog, the story of a frantic zoo unfolds in the form of tweets:
In a series of Twitter updates, the zoo wrote that zookeepers have scoured trees but have not been able to find him. "Red pandas are wild animals, & will bite if cornered or scared," the zoo warned. "If you do see Rusty, don’t try to approach him. Stay where you can safely keep an eye on him & alert the Zoo (202.633.4888) immediately."
The World Wildlife Fund lists the population of the red panda as fewer than 10,000.
Then again, Rusty does have a history of escaping and partying. Also, if you see Pablo Sandoval on Tuesday, it's because you're watching the Giants play the Los Angeles Dodgers in West Coast baseball action.
