Jose Canseco won’t face rape charges in Las Vegas, offers to sell his polygraph results

Police in Las Vegas said Friday that Jose Canseco won't be charged in a sexual assault case to which he was recently connected. Citing insufficient evidence, detectives told The Las Vegas Review-Journal that the case against Canseco has been dropped — a case that Canseco himself announced on Twitter last month.

At the time, Canseco proclaimed his innocence, tweeting (and in many cases, deleting) personal information about the woman who accused him of rape. At the time, he offered to take a polygraph test. This week, the ex-slugger said he took and passed another polygraph test. It was redemption for Canseco and validation for his early claims of innocence.

But if you thought that's where this story ends, then you obviously don't follow the Jose Canseco sideshow on Twitter. Because one of his next moves was this:

Polygraph results up for sale with the true detailed story of what happened that night.

The polygraphs makes a good Christmas gift and his account is a wonderful bedtime story.

It's not surprising really. Canseco is nothing if not a guy who wants the spotlight. Case in point, he's also been on Twitter lately inviting himself to cameo on HBO's "Eastbound & Down."

East bound and down back for a fourth season? How about a cameo. @hbo. @funnyordie

Sure beats a cameo in jail.

Baseball season's in full swing. Don't miss a thing.
