When the Los Angeles Dodgers get together and vote for Gold Glove outfielders, they had better remember what Gerardo Parra of the Arizona Diamondbacks did to them Monday night at Dodger Stadium.
As The Stew mentioned in the morning Juice, Parra cut down the hottest baseball player on the planet, Yasiel Puig, with a strong and unbelievably accurate throw from right field to third base. He also robbed Tim Fedorowicz of extra bases leading off the seventh by making a leaping catch at the fence in the "Danger! Bryce Harper" section of the ballpark.
Both of these plays were indispensable in Arizona's come-from-behind 5-4 victory.
Parra's arm stunted a Dodgers rally in the fourth. Even though they scored a run, it could have been more if Puig's not thrown out at third base on Jerry Hairston's single to right. Parra even paused for a moment when he realized Puig was trying for third base, as if to say, "Really?" Parra's brief hesitation didn't cost him at all.
Never make the first or last out at third, Yasiel. Yeah, the throw needed to be nearly perfect — but Parra can do that.

In the seventh, Fedorowicz lined the first pitch of Charles Brewer's major league career deep to right but Parra — gliding by an ad for "Man of Steel" as he neared the warning track, made a tough leaping catch into the fence.
Parra's leaping grab was pleasing to members of Arizona's bullpen — notably Josh Collmenter — who collectively banged their approval on the bullpen window. This all went down near where Bryce Harper of the Nationals hurt himself earlier this season.
Parra was able to brace himself for impact, though he still took a few moments to recover. It's not certain if Puig, watching from the dugout, has gotten over it yet.
