Darren Daulton, the former Philadelphia Phillies catcher and current Philly radio host, received some grimm health news: He has two brain tumors.
Radio station 97.5 The Fanatic, for which Daulton, 51, hosts "Talking Baseball with Dutch," announced the news in a statement on Thursday:
Darren Daulton has not been feeling well over the past two weeks. He went to the doctor who discovered two brain tumors and is scheduled for surgery early next week. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this difficult time. Of course we want to respect his privacy at a time like this, but if you would like to send him get well wishes you may do so at dutch@975thefanatic.com
Daulton — nicknamed "Dutch" — played for the Phillies from 1983-1997. He was a three-time all-star who was regarded as a tough player and a leader in the Phillies clubhouse. In his final season, he was traded to the Florida Marlins, where he won a World Series ring.
