Astros sign No. 1 overall pick RHP Mark Appel (Yahoo! Sports)

HOUSTON (AP) -- The Houston Astros have signed right-handed pitcher Mark Appel of Stanford, the No. 1 overall draft pick in the draft earlier this month.
