Mother reunites with military daughter in cool surprise at U.S. Cellular Field

Mother’s Day came a little early for Ginny Page.

On Saturday night at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago, she was reunited with her daughter, Amanda, who’s a U.S. Navy petty officer, third class. Amanda has been deployed to the Middle East twice, spending nearly a year and a half on a ship repairing F-18 jets. Unfortunately, that’s where she was over the holidays this past year as well, but that was more than made up for on Saturday as she emerged from the home dugout and then embraced her shocked mother on the pitcher's mound.

The entire event was planned by Operation Warrior Wishes and the White Sox organization. Leading up to the event, Ginny had been informed that she won a contest through her husband's job to throw out at the first pitch at Saturday's White Sox-Angels game.

She had absolutely no idea what was coming, though she did have one recent interaction with daughter that ended with Amanda saying, ""I hope your Mother's Day present arrives by Saturday."

It sure did! And we couldn't be happier for mother and daughter that they get to spend this Mother's Day together.

You can read more about their awesome story over at Cut 4. We certainly encourage you to do just that.

Happy Mother's Day to all!
