162 in the books: Saturday was game No. 162 in Bryce Harper's young career, and the 20-year-old phenom celebrated by launching his 31st homer (ninth this season) to pace Washington's 6-3 winner over the Reds. He's also contributed 31 doubles, 10 triples and 19 stolen bases in his short tenure, showing off the versatility everybody anticipated when he was the No. 1 overall pick in 2010.
As for Washington's pitching, they weren't able to throw a third straight one-hitter, but they did get Dan Haren's best start of the season. In six innings, he allowed two runs on six hits. That was good enough for his second win.
Oldies but goodies: The banged up Yankees moved to 14-9 thanks in large part to the replacements, Travis Hafner and Vernon Wells. Hafner evened the game for New York with a three-run homer off J.A. Happ in the third. Later, Wells tied it again 4-4 with an RBI single scoring Robinson Cano. Hafner then gave New York their first lead of the night with only his third triple since 2007. That would hold up as Joba Chamberlain (not Mariano Rivera) closed the door in the ninth to give the Yankees a 5-4 win.
Braves homer, still lose: It's significant because the Braves entered play on Saturday as winners in all 15 games they'd homered so far. Despite Justin Upton's league-leading 12th big fly, Atlanta falls 7-4. Omar Infante and Jhonny Peralta each hit two-run homers for Detroit.
Working overtime: One historic extra-inning win streak ends, could another be on the way? Possibly so, because the Arizona Diamondbacks are now 6-0 this season after defeating the Rockies 3-2 in 10 on Cody Ross's walkoff sacrifice fly. The D-Backs got to extras despite a miserable start from left-hander Wade Miley, who walked seven in under five innings. Incredibly, the Rockies did not plate a single one of them (or anybody against Miley) thanks to three double plays.

Phillies 9, Mets 4: Shawn Marcum's Mets' debut lasted only four innings.
Orioles 7, A's 3: Baltimore was forced to abandon their designated hitter after catcher Taylor Teagarden dislocated his left thumb. It didn't much matter as they won their eighth in nine games.
Twins 7, Rangers 2: Pedro Hernandez earned his first major league victory. He's been limited to two starts this season due to Minnesota's numerous postponements.
Pirates 5, Cardinals 3: St. Louis bullpen blows a 3-0 lead in the seventh inning.
Red Sox 8, Astros 4: David Ortiz drives in three runs and raises his season average to .519. Boston really is his (expletive) city.
Royals 3, Indians 2: Terry Francona called on five relievers in the seventh inning but couldn't keep Kansas City from adding an insurance run. That run loomed large after Cleveland struck for two unearned tallies in the ninth.
Rays 10, White Sox 4: Matt Moore struck out six of the first seven batters he faced and never looked back. He's a five-game winner now, along with Boston's Clay Buchholz.
Cubs 3, Marlins 2: Miami wasted home runs from Giancarlo Stanton and Miguel Olivo, and wasted the time of the 27,519 fans in attendance. Or at least the 5,000 that weren't rooting for the Cubs.
Padres 8, Giants 7 (12 Inn.): Barry Zito failed to hold a 5-0 lead. Padres eventually steal it on Marco Scutaro's fielding error.
Brewers 6, Dodgers 4: Matt Magill's impressive big league debut was spoiled by Carlos Gomez and Martin Maldonado homers late.
Mariners 3, Angels 2: Seattle was 0 for 10 with runners in scoring position before Kendrys Morales broke a seventh inning tie with an RBI single. Felix Hernandez picks up win No. 3.
