Oakland Athletics outfielder Coco Crisp berated himself on Twitter after his attempt at a basket catch failed for a huge two-run error in Sunday's Game 2 of the ALDS.
That's a terrible feeling seeing the ball fly out your glove and even worse in a key situation i have tomake that dang play!!!

A's fans must have liked seeing Crisp stand accountable for that play, but the only way he truly could start to make amends was with his play on the field. And he has. , Crisp made perhaps the best play of the postseason during Tuesday night's Game 3 leaping high and pulling back what appeared to be a home run ball by Prince Fielder to center field. Was his effort even better than that of Jon Jay, the St. Louis Cardinals outfielder who ran down a long fly to left-center in Game 2 of the NDLS on Monday? Jay appeared to cover more ground, caught the ball over his shoulder and he certainly hit the fence harder than Crisp. But Crisp went higher, had even less room with his back to the fence and saved the ball from going over.
Regardless, that's two of the best plays of entire season within around 24 hours of each other in the playoffs — and we're only midway though the division series. It's been a good October for leather.
