Vernon Wells to have thumb surgery, out 8-10 weeks (Yahoo! Sports)

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) Los Angeles Angels outfielder Vernon Wells will undergo right thumb surgery Tuesday and is expected to be sidelined eight to 10 weeks.
