The best interview program on the World Wide Web happens to be "Between Two Ferns" with Zach Galifanakis. It's not a real interview, but it's not entirely fake, either. The gist: Galifanakis gets into a snarky mood but somehow maintains innocence as he asks inappropriate questions of celebrities. The guest plays along — they're in on the joke — but they're also letting Galifanakis make fun of them as they do the interview sitting literally between two ferns — cable access-style.
Now that we have that out of the way, here's A.J. Ellis of the Los Angeles Dodgers channeling Galifanakis as he interviews teammate Clayton Kershaw. Or is it Clayton Krenshaw?
Ellis is solid doing the interview, but I surprisingly preferred Kershaw playing the straight man. Pretty good comic timing on both parts. Ellis has been having a breakthrough season at age 31 for the surprising Dodgers, and both guys between the palms should make the NL All-Star team come July. Maybe they'll interview each other again while in Kansas City.
For comparison's sake, here's an original "Between Two Ferns" with guest Bruce Willis:
"Did you know that some actors turn down roles?"
