Nick Markakis was hitless in three at-bats in his first game since returning from offseason surgery, and the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Baltimore Orioles 11-5 on Wednesday. Markakis left the final game of the 2011 season with an injury to his abdomen. He tried to rehabilitate it, but had surgery in January to repair the torn muscle.
