Carlos Quentin says he had ‘good, productive’ conversation with Zack Greinke

Carlos Quentin returns to the San Diego Padres lineup on Tuesday, having served an eight-game suspension for his role in the April 11 bench-clearing brawl between the Padres and the Dodgers.

Speaking to reporters before the Padres game against the Milwaukee Brewers, Quentin revealed that he's spoken with Zack Greinke since their infamous encounter — in which Greinke hit Quentin with a pitch and then suffered a broken left collarbone when Quentin charged the mound.

#Padres Carlos Quentin: "I did speak to Zack (Greinke). We were able to talk and have a good, productive conversation." #Dodgers

He wouldn't offer details of their conversation — so we'll all just have to wait for the book 15 years for now. Below is a video of Quentin's pre-game interview Tuesday (via Marty Caswell). Quentin doesn't talk about his chat with Greinke, but he does talk about his regrets.

Anybody else think that, for a minute there, Quentin was going to really angry again? Glad he didn't.

Baseball is back. Don't miss anything.
